This 1979 Honda Z50R came to me from Pittsburgh, PA. The bike was owned since new by the same family who wanted to resurrect the tattered 50 for more abuse at the hands of another young male rider within the family. The bike was delivered partially assembled and also in boxes and hadn't run "in years".

Initially the bike was going to be completely torn down for a ground-up restoration but after talking numbers it was decided the bike would be made ridable, safe and as good looking as possible. With that goal in mind, all the missing and bad parts were located on the internet. The really rough pieces were sand blasted and refinished using a stock appearing gray color. The engine was given a complete cleaning as well as a new carb and intake. The old motor, while tired, still ran good for it's intended use. Budgetary constraints left the motor untouched internally. All in all it was a successful project. One that left the bike safe, reliable and able to handle enough punishment to make any young boy smile!
