I was contacted by the Pennsylvania State Police to do some cosmetic work on one of their old Panhead service motorcycles. The bike didn't need to run. The only mechanical requirement was they wanted the headlight and spotlights to function. A new 6-volt battery and a couple wiring diagrams later, the lights were working.

A complete teardown was not in the budget so I had to use other means to improve the bikes appearance. After a complete degreasing, I attacked all the rusted and severely degraded areas with my airbrush. Using basic silver and black paint, I was able to cover up most of the defective areas while maintaining the bikes "used" patina. I also polished the front forks and headlight shroud, cleaned the tires and seat, polished the single stage paint and got the headlight and spotlights to work using the center console switch.

The bike is currently on display in the main lobby in Hershey.
